Upload new version of theme

Question

I am unable to upload a new version of the theme I am working on.  Wordpress is telling me the theme already exists.  Do I have to name it differently each time I change it?

WordPress does not provide the functionality to override the existing theme with new same name theme. So every time you need to upload theme with a new name.
