Header and Footer of Tesseract 2 Theme: How to edit format using child theme?

Hello! I am very impressed with your website.. It is very clean and appealing.

1. I need some help with my header. To put search icon which expands once clicked (just like yours). Is it possible with css and what css do I need to edit? I'm using a Child theme of Tesseract 2 Theme..

2. In my footer, I need to create a four column widget. And I need to customize it's font size. I had been able to make it but it's sidebar was affected too..
