Can I use HTML in the footer to create links and to enter the copyright symbol?

Question

1. In the Copyright box, I would like to have the business name be a link to their site. How can I create a link? Is there a way to use HTML in the copyright box?
2. I want to use the actual copyright symbol, which is © -- again, how do I edit HTML to use this symbol in the footer?

I see that after I have exported the WordPress theme and installed it, that inside WordPress, I can go to Theme Options and use HTML for the footer.  One bug I have found is that after I save the Footer, it does not save it under Theme Options. It works... but it is not saved, so if I save again, I have lost my customized footer. Is this something I should open a ticket for?
