The required field icon (red *) is not appearing with the required class

in Joomla Templates by blazingimages (260 points)
In my J5 template, the required icon (the red *) is not appearing at all. How do I fix this. I also did not see any place to edit the typography of the legend tag and had to add custom CSS for that. What is the fix?
