Getting Full Width Header Image

Question

I am trying to get a full width header with background image.  When i add the image, the website logo fills in a block to the left and there is padding to the right

if i change background to a color, it runs the full width, but the image does not. Do you know what I am doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I didn't see a mention of this in this forum.
