template with different layout for home and other pages

Question

My site has a three-column layout in the home (left vertical menu, content in the center, right column with the news that uses form mod_news_show_gk3). The other pages should have only the menu column and the content area (not the column for news). Can I do? If I set my three-column layout form and the mod_news only for the home, other pages in the left column remains empty. My site is http://www.leomajor.pn.it (I'm preparing the new template with toaster)

I am not a joomla expert, but I think you can accomplish this by building 2 seperate templates. One for your 3 column layout, and one for your 2 column layout. Upload to your joomla installation via the Extention Manager.

Layout your modules on the landing (home) page using position beased on the 3 column template.
Layout your modules on the subsequent pages using the positions based on the 2 column template.
