We're testing the demo version of TT, latest version as of 09/18/2013. Templates appear fine in Firefox, Chrome and and Safari but when viewed in IE9 the page background is missing, the menu background is missing and a few other visual problems. This is a deal-breaker for us as we need the TT templates to work in IE as it does in the other major browsers. Is this just a demo issue?

Using Joomla 2.5.14, simple export from TT. Uploaded and assigned the menu module as specified in the TT.

Here is the site we are testing... Messed up in IE big time.

Hope this can be solved as we're trying to move away from the "Cloud-based" Artisteer soon.

Thanks

Jim

We downloaded the latest build (3.1.0.5363) but unfortunately it has not been fixed. The header background and the menu background is still not showing in IE9. The "About Us" is completely invisible in the menu as well. This is the second layout we tried (trial version so we cannot save the same template for testing but the result is still messed up in IE9).

Can someone please look at this?

Hi,

Ie9 doesn't support css gradient. so we have graceful degraded it to background color.

Then why is the header background image missing in IE9? This is a serious bug.

Same problem here JimmLee. This is a deal breaker for us as well. Most of our clients use IE9 and the header background is broken. Yes we can fix it with a hack but then why use TT? Big problem for us. Regarding your menu background problem in IE, what Artisteer does to get around this issue is generate a gradient image. Smart idea since the cross-browser problem is solved that way. We are not going to invest in TT and staying with Artisteer for now because of these issues. May check out TT again in the future. Good luck.

These screenshots are from the latest build 3.1.0.5363 and I am using the Pro version.

Indeed, IE9 does not display any gradient in the header or menu background. The theme here is a TT "suggested" theme and installed in the latest 3.6.1 of WordPress. I basically found a suggestion that had gradient backgrounds for both header and menu and exported as a WP Theme and then installed it.

System is Win7, latest Firefox and IE9 (Chrome is fine too, shows the gradients)

Latest FF

IE9

I'm certain we can hack the code to get it working on all browsers but that should not be necessary at all.

Having to hack every header background and menu background after exporting a template...? We could of course create a snapshot image for both the header and menu background elements but we SHOULD NOT have to do this. Not when we were considering purchasing TemplateToaster. This is a major problem for us at the moment so we cannot take the plunge on purchasing this software till this issue is resolved. If Artisteer can do this without a hitch, then the TT guys will figure it out eventually.

Support here cannot just respond with "IE9 doesn't support CSS gradients" and leaving us hanging like this. This is a big issue that needs to be addressed. For now though, we'll continue using Artisteer and possible check back here in month or two.

Somewhat related header issues...
Look at the broken header on TemplateToaster's own Website as viewed in Firefox 23.x...

Are they not aware of this? :?:

Yes, just noticed that. Dang I wish they would fix these issues. Otherwise we would buy the Pro version in a heartbeat. TT is coming along great, just need to iron out these kinks.
