Horizontal menu issue

Question

Hi,

I have created a template in TT and included a horizontal menu with a background color blue.
Once i uploaded it, it shows the place where the horizontal menu should be, but i didnt enabled this menu in Joomla.
I expected that it didnt show unless i enabled the menu option in Joomla.

So, did i do something wrong building the template or is it something else ?
