How can I do Teaser-Area over screen screen width

(Joomla-Template)

I have defined fixed container, so that content is only able to appear in the center area of my page -(not shown from one side to the other side of the screen). I also defined backround color over all the screen. Now I want to define a Teaser-Area (only visible on Start screen) which is using same container  in the middle of screen, means content should start at same left edge. But Backround color is different and again over all the screen width. Can't use fixed pixel because template should be responsive.
