Page background problem

Hi TT,
I have given my page a background as seen in the image below but it does not appear when uploaded to joomla see link (http://jtrstage.treboroughlodge.com/), what could be the problem please?


EDIT: I have just noticed that although it does not appear in joomla when uploaded viewing in Firefox but is all too prominent in IE9, in fact it shows without any of the styling e.g. the gradient I put on it.
